An Effective Way to Teach Color to Kids
Most people take color for granted but color plays a very important role in our day to day lives. Kids love color and they can learn the names of colors even if they’re still very young. One-year olds and two-year olds can actually learn about color. Even the humble coloring pages and crayons are effective in teaching colors. One thing that you should remember when teaching very young kids about color is that you have to teach one color at a time. If you’re teaching blue, concentrate on that color. Identify objects that are blue and point them out to your child. All other colors are ‘not blue’ at this point. When he has mastered which objects are blue, you can then move on to the next color. Red for example. When you’re teaching red, all other colors are ‘not red’. This is a very simple but very effective method in teaching color.
